Leaking footwells
« on: July 17, 2010, 20:18:35 »
Have got a problem with leaking footwells in Disc 300tdi. have mastic'd up the bonnet overflows as thought is may be finding a way in from their and in between the front 1/4 wheel skin panels.

Cannot find anywhere where it's coming in - anyone else had this problem ?

yup, and there are many many places it can come from.  Pull up the carpet and sound stuff, it'll be sodden at a guess and then look down at the road from the seat :)  That's where mine was after chasing everywhere else ....

done  :dance:ethat and no holes - if only it was as straight forward as that !  had another look and think it may be from windscreen seal.
Out comes tha mastic - if the rain would get lost !
Thanks anyway

Are you sure it's coming from the outside?

If I use my AC too much I get wet carpets so I open the window instead!

Had this happen on my 300 TDi passenger side - above your feet and behind/below the washer bottle is a main loom entering the cabin through a grommet - it hadn't been fitted properly, water gathers at the bottom of that slope and pours in,worst part was removing the washer bottle to get at it. also try the mud flap attachment angles under the floor, the bolts had rusted and made the holes bigger, as I had side steps and no flaps i removed the brackets and did a tinkers tin pot repair - nut and bolt with two penny washers.

Corrosion in the A posts and the inner wing just ahead of it, take out rhe glovebox and check right up inside.
