Gradually stripping out the seized 200tdi.........
« on: August 05, 2010, 21:39:31 »
As some of you guys may remember, the 200 seized about a year ago now, and i`ve been slowly stripping the engine down.
On removing the pipe from the front of the turbo, i noticed the leading edges of the blades/vanes look like lead shot have been pulled through! They`re all chipped and dented, which i would assume means the turbos goosed.
Anyway, what i`m getting at is this- Does what i`ve explained above give any indication on the engine failiure?
If so, is it fixable? I know, I know, its ALL fixable but would it be economically viable?

sounds like it would have done valve or piston damage may be fixable but may cost as much a second hand gud engine
