I don't want to whizz on anybody's fireworks, but I think the phpBB counter which works this out is a bit haphazard.  I have a board which shows 18 users online at the same time, but that was before I even *had* 18 users...  Sometimes it shows the same person on many times at once, even when they're not, so don't rely on it!

I think that if you open 2 windows, the users count as two and not one, not sure but I do agree I have seen more users on line than I have in the database too
If I could only find some mud to play in, I would be as happy as the preverbial pig!!!
