Most important that you avoid to many bends or changes in diameter if you intend to use it all the time.

On my V8 I blanked off the front air entry to the airbox, then made a flange and fixed it to the side, avoiding a tight U bend, then onwards via a piece of hose to B&Q pipe, easily replaced if broken. Been on a while now and taken some knocks, still looks good.

just finished mine its a 200 tdi disco one with a bit of moding to the bonnet
