Chequer plate rear door card
« on: August 28, 2010, 21:29:52 »
Can anyone tell me if anyone sells a chequerplate rear door card for a discovery 2. I can find lots for a disco 1 but there doesn't seem to be any around for the 2

other than the outer skin on yours being steel not ally the rear doors are identicle even down to fitting the same storage bins and speaker pods. so a d1 card will fit no bother.

I have a chequer plate door liner for a disco 1, and it most certainly does not fit on a disco 2!

The shape is the same, but the position of the opening lever, and closing handle are very different. (due to the direction of the third row of seats.)

I ended up having a door panel made for me out of plain ali sheet. You need lots of padding behind it, and fix it down well or it will rattle like a good 'un.

If anyone wants to make an offer on a Disco 1 chequerplate door liner, drop me a line.

Hi Lambert.

I can't comment on the commercial, as I don't have experience.

My last Disco 2 was a 7 seater, so had the handle to close the door. Had the plate made. Now have new disco 2, and is a special vehicles ex plod  :police: vehicle. It is a 5 seater, but has air suspension on rear. The opening handle is in the same place, but doesn't have the closing handle. (so still have holes where handles used to be!)
