What would you recommend? Budget
« on: September 04, 2010, 13:13:45 »
Hi,
I am looking for suggestions for a vehicle that I can just chuck stuff in the back of, can do a few miles in and go 'easy' greenlaning in.

My budget is around

disco I think gets my vote - maybe a cheaper than your budget one - and spend the rest on fancy some toys for it.

what year / spec would you suggest?

Would it be worth looking at Jeeps or Toyotas?

f'knows im looking for a disco myself for mrs and i'm lost but seems they are so cheap and rich for spares - modifications and information rich for maintenance is why  I suggest, basically a defender in a cheaper more comfortable body for half the price.

that was my thought, but didn't want to rule out anything obviously as good.. but it seems that a Disco will be the way to go..

Landcruiser VX 4.2 diesel.

Difflocks all round, stunning reliability and also about the best tow wagon you can get.

You'll have plenty of change from 5K to lift it 2" and stick some 35's under the arches ;)
