Nothing to do with the forum.. I guess it is some bit of software or plugin you have installed in your browser.

It's not doing it for me.

Have you got some toolbar or spyware installed that's adding in the links automatically?

Some malware will hijack web pages in this way for its own devious uses.  Spybot and Ad-Aware should get rid of most of it.

Or get a Mac!

Just thinking about it, might be worth running some spyware/adware checking software...

MK,

If it happened after you searched for something on the forum it highlights the search words.

Well it does for me anyhow.

:? Ive just run a full system check useing spybot and an anti spyware program, both detected nothing wrong and gave my p.c a clean bid of health. But some words are still highlighted. The programs checked over 22.500 files on my p.c yet nothing found. :?

The only thing i can think of is that this morning i received a letter from NTL saying that thay are going to upgrade me to 2MB for free ( currently on IMB ). And my p.c was acting a bit funny earlier on, a freind at work recently went on the 2MB packeage and he has been complaing about getting loads of unwanted pop-ups and Trojans. Think ill be leaveing NTL and find a differant server network.

Have you got any of these search engine toolbars (Google, etc)? It might be something like that, that's doing it!?

Regarding NTL and alternatives, have you seen the ADSL Guide web site? Full of information and ratings from people who actually use the suppliers they rate.

Plus, there's plenty of people on here who can offer advice :)

Well, it could feasibly be NTL I supposed, but I'm surprised they'd stoop so low, even if they are the most scummy, wretched company ever to grace the planet (although Air France have a good crack at it too).

It could be a browser hijacker that's just come out, so Spybot / Ad-Aware may not have cottoned on to it yet.

If it's NTL, then check your agreement with them, as they'd have to be pretty devious to get you to sign up to something like that.

Doesn't sound like the mud-club search engine facility, as that doesn't give you click-throughs on the highlighted words  :?

My guess is that it's our old friend "FunWebProducts"

It is very good at hijacking browsers, and whilst not malicious in its own right  is a bit of nasty adware.

No there is no link to click on it just changes the colour of the word searched.

It looks like a browser hyjaker, as the words that are highlighted when i click on them they are useing the same browser called "Zippy-lookup". A new one on me. Its just a search enginge by the looks of it, and ive checked it out and nothing seems wrong with it.  :?

:D Found where it came from, the other night i downloaded Real Player to listen to radio etc,, as part of the agreement  ( in the small print ) it says certain pop ups browsers will appear from time to time on my p.c via there system. Thats why its not showing up when i run my spyware programs because the zippy look-up browser is part of the BBC Radio website. Its not a problem and wont affect anyone elses p.c, infact its not dammaged mine its just an inconveinience more than anything else.

I've had this before, words like insurance and vehicles were all high lighted and when click on would take you to a link, very annoying

Glad you got it sorted

Try manually changing it (Internet Options).  If it keeps resetting itself, download & run Ad-Aware and Spybot, which will hopefully flush out any nasty stuff.  You will be unpleasantly surprised by how much dastardly software is knocking around on your PC.

Or, get a Mac
