I saw one up for sale just the other week, and was fumin' that i had no cash.
Boy! was I ticked off :'( :'(

It was the "Vampyre"-bodied one that belonged to Crieff Hydro, (a posh hotel), up near Callander.

The same vehicle was featured in one of the LRM mags and the story was covered by Mark Saville?/Savage, a few years back.

I've been reading lots of old lro mags and there seemed to be loads about. I guess this was due to them been released from the mod at the time. Now they seem to be few and far between which is a but of a shame

That wouldn't be in Ponterwyd would it? I know there's a coach company there who have one in their yard (presumably as a recovery vehicle/parts hack).

I know someone around here has a camper conversion (based on a GS, but with the roof from an ambulance and hand-built sides/back). Don't think he's likely to sell though - when I last spoke to him he was trying to sort through assorted minor nuisances and get it running properly so he could use it.

It's owned by the owner of the coach company, he also drives a P38 that's a bit unwell at the moment so I guess the 101 is back on the road. I've been laning with him and that's a very competent vehicle :D He's in the Coast Guard too and has used it on support stuff too. If you live in Mid Wales this was also the coastie that went out to a rescue on the day of his wedding when he got paged. He made it to the wedding on time though ;)

There's a load on the ocean floor near the Falklands.

101s were never really very common and as has been said there are no more to come out fo the army, the last ones been reserve and territorial machines.  The 130s that replaced them in some roles are getting demobbed too.  They are mostly over 30 years old now though, so I guess they are being cosseted, stored or just hiding away until the prices go back up.

Maybe it's just not that time of year.

Someone near me has a very nice one that looks like its the tow car for a competition landy. Looks very tidy and guaranteed to get you out of the paddock at meets. I wont say where though for obvious reasons.

One of the guys at our local LR club has just sold his totally original GS. Still on leaf springs, no gas, etc. So many have been modded to make them more useable, but this one was totally unmolested.

Cosseted?  I had mine floating at Sibbertoft the other week.

Used to have two but sold one.

There's a number for sale on the 101 club website.

You are the exception that proves the rule.  I was tempted to post "the reason there are no 101s for sale is because Chris has bought them all" but now you only have 1, how will you cope :-.
