Steering guard advice please

OK, I've been saving up all my pocket money and been and spent it all on a Rebel 4x4 steering guard  :lol: with recovery eyes  :lol:  :lol: (no more scrabbling around underwater trying to locate jate rings)

So.... before I spend all saturday morning skinning my knuckles trying to get my chubby spanner clad hands into restrictive spaces, some advice please. It comes in three bits, two brackets and the plate. So should I a) bolt the bits together and fit it as a complete unit or b) fit the brackets first and then bolt on the plate?

I figure which ever way I do it, it'll be sods law that I can't reach at least one of the bolts!!

loosely fit the two plates which fix onto the chassis then attach the guard that goes across, when you are happy they are lined up

tighten up all the bolts.

mine was in one piece and after buying a steel bumper it took 6hrs to fit both back on

suffice to say it took 2hrs to remove prior to the sale

should have kept the lot on really :P

had to grind a bit off mine to fit round a bit of thick welding round the chassis.

also had fun undoing on of the bolts at the back.

after that goes on very easily

I have a 3 piece Rebel guard and had no problems
I fitted the two support sides first (loosely) and then fitted the plate. Tightened the lot together.
Took me less than an hour.
Easy job.
PS i had the bumper off 3 weeks before so i knew the bolts would come off!!...CHEAT) 8)
