Evening,
My mate is tearing his hair out over an an alarm/immobiliser issue on his V8 Disco 2.
When he enters the vehicle the alarm activates and obviously vehicle wont start, he has replaced the roof transponder and the BCU and coded the BCU, this bypasses the alarm issue but not the immobiliser as it then refuses to start.
He owns his own garage business with access to diagnostics but unfortunately the Nanocom diagnostics do not cover V8 models so it is not seeing the fault. Is it possible the immobiliser is controlled by the ECU? If so is the ECU not talking to the BCU?
Has anybody had a similar problem, if so how have you fixed it?
Regards,
Steve
