please help someone!!

hi my brothers got a discovery 1 300tdi auto and it seems to take ages to start in the mornings and if u leave it for about 10 min it will do same thing, when it does finally start it kicks out lots of white/grey smoke for about 30secs, can anyone shed some light on the problem?

Change the heater plugs for a start, the auto's with EDC have an issue starting if they're knackered.

check the relay and fuse then, make sure they are getting power.  Ours had a chunk of wiring corrode enear the battery so the glow plugs were useless, even withthe light coming on the dash.

no :( he has fitted a non return valve as derv could be draining back, just checked the new glow plugs and 2 arent as good so put 2 more new ones in, just waiting a couple hours to see if it starts better lol
