Get a little inventive with paint shop and make a dodgy authenticity letter for it, make sure rare is in big letters in the title and will rake in the money

if it was 1995, could have been for promotion, as that was year that they entered BTCC. so to right person could be worth a bit.

Thats what i would do.
Just make sure you describe it properly.
I sell loads of Land Rover bits on ebay and it's all in the title.
e.g. of a axle sale 'Land Rover Discovery Range Axle Diff (landrover)'
that is now found by anyone who types the individual words in the search section. Anyone searching Land Rover, Discovery, Range Rover, Axle, Diff or some people typr Landrover as one word. All of these are covered.
Make sure you describe yours thats open to a lot of searches.

Well we have got the tire here, its looks unused, apart from  a bit of mud, which should clean off and its is signed by James Kaye(18 Place) and David Leslie (10 place) both drove the MSD Honda Accord in the 1995 BTCC.

The tire is Yokohama 210x625R18 its has on the slick N1275 and 3 like arrow markings on in Pink or maybe light red and the other 2 in yellow.

Below the signatures are the words

"1995 British Touring Car Championship Team Honda MSD" in gold pen.

On checking the BTCC pages both these guys were in the 1995 BTCC and are still racing today.

Would like to get some more info before it got put onto ebay or anywhere else to be sure it is genuine.

This is the thing to prove that it is genuine.

I'm not doubting you for a second, but it would be nice to try and authenticate the signatures  :?:

Why did they sign this tyre, who last owned it, and how did it end up where you found it  :?:

It's all very intriguing.

The thing that crosses my mind is, if you were the unfortunate person who lost it and had proof of that what whould you do if you spotted it on ebay?
I agree with you Phil, finders keepers, but is that the legal situation?
I sometimes womble things from the side of the road but would think twice about telling the world.

Indeed Andy all intresting stuff, I have found that these drivers David Leslie and Jason Kaye did drive for the Honda team in 1995 (and are still racing today)

1995 was the first year Honda MSD raced in the BTCC.

Yes very intresting and I would like all the same question answered  :D  is I can.

I agree with you Bev, the finder keepers statement was tounge in cheek.

I would feel the same if I had lost something then spotted it advertised on ebay, I would be gutted.

If you found a wallet on the ground, would you keep it and say nothing, or report it and hand in to the local police station, I'm of the opinion that it should be reported. And thats what I have done, so if anyones claims it within the next 3 months it will be handed back(of course proff of ownership will be required) if not, maybe ebay.

This was found very near to the local dump, an area where a lot of fly tipping occours, so it could be geniune rubbish or it could be the genuine article... time will tell.
