Stolen landrovers section
« on: November 22, 2010, 23:20:55 »
On Friday my mates Landy was stolen so I put it in the stolen section. Why is this part only visible to members that are signed in. The point in posting a stolen car in that section is so that as many people as possible can see it!

It would seem that a large number of  defenders from in and around Northampton  have been going missing so be warned. I am going to get a tracker fitted next week.

It's a fair point... but....

Yes it's great to advertise that a truck has gone missing, but has any truck ever been found from any stolen section in any forum?

150 000 <> vehicles are reported stolen in the UK every year (that's reported, not stolen. I've had a truck stolen before which wasn't reported... I'm sure that there's plenty of other people who have too).

That's 500 <> vehicles a day. That's got to be at least 1 landrover a day is stolen, say 10 4x4's in total?

Putting up a post on a forum, although it must feel like good is being done, and I can totally understand how gutted some one must be at loosing their pride and joy so any thing is better than nothing, but...

leaking in the wind a bit isn't it?

I think I've read once incidence of a vehicle being recovered, IIRC in that case it was spotted parked not far from where it had been taken and friends of the owner were able to go and stand guard until Police arrived to recover it.

Sad to say, the majority of 4x4s are most likely either stripped for parts or straight into a container and out of the country.

And the only part of that which was forum related was getting a few people to keep an eye whilst the police turned up.

puting pictures up and listing distingtive featurs is the key, i have done a dubble take at a cuple of 4x4s i have seen in the stolen section you just never know

i still think its a good idea if nothing els you can discribe the nature of crime to help prevent it happning to others

When Trug's old 90 was stolen from its new owner i saw it on here.

Then funnily enough saw it when i was on a train!

So phoned the owner and told him.

Never found out if it was found or not.
