I was looking forward to a long weekend of no motor vehicle tinkering.  But, oh no, Stig had other ideas!

Can you guess what this used to be?

Correct!

Pulling into Supermarket car park.  Sudden loss of drive.  No horrid sounds, just no drive.

My first thought was it was the gearbox, not this time, but that will happen some time, it's an LT77 after all.

Sticking the diff lock on restored drive, so I limped it home to investigate.  With diff lock disengaged, and gear selected, the front prop shaft turned.

Hm.  Diff?  Half shaft?

I needed to do the front pads and a damper turret anyway, so I decided to strip down and take a look.  I got lucky, it wsa just the CV joint.  Phew!  It's quite novel having something go wrong and it not needing megabucks spent on it.

I thought that too.

This is what's bugging me the most when it comes to fixing it:

Replace CV joint, 30 minutes.
Remove swivel housing to get rid of all the bits of metal floating around inside it, most of the day!!!
