Cane Top Numbers
« on: October 06, 2011, 11:56:23 »
Our off-road trials club is looking to buy some numbers for the canes we use to make the gates in our trials.
Basically we need a heavy duty vinyl pocket approx 15 cm x 10 cm heat welded on three sides so that it will slip over the top of the cane. We need numbers 1 - 10 printing in white on both sides of the pocket on two sets each of red, yellow, blue background.

Anybody out there know of a supplier?

Could you not make your own, with a laminator, then slice into bottom to put on cane?

Tried this and due to the amount of abuse, mud, wet etc they don't last two minutes. We need some viynal ideally.

You probably want a tent and marquee fabricator in order to get welded PVC.

In truth, it's not hard to weld - you just need the material, a hot gun and a wall paper roller... stick the nozzle of the heat gun between the folded over PVC and roll to seal.... Simples!

Don't know where you are, but try someone like Base Structures in Bristol - they may be expensive but equally they may have some scrap material..
