Today I was worming the seeps when I was pushed and lost my ballance and got trampled. I feel like I have tried to stop a bus with my chest.

booked day vacation off from work.
Had blood test.
Decided to clear some of the scrap from garden and sheds. So loaded up the Sankey trailer and spent an hour looking for my driving licence to use as photo ID. Finally go to metal scrap merchant in town. Bare in mind I haven't done this before.
Put the defender and trailer on weigh bridge and it came up as 3600kg, dumped the load where the guy said, weighed truck again and it's 370kg lighter, went into office and got £35.00.
Does that sound too low a price? I didn't ask current price of ferrous but looking elsewhere on internet I was expecting more like £50.00- £70.00? thoughts?

Anyway - got all hot and sweaty and garden and shed still look no different I have still got a 110 rolling chassis and tub sitting there - just that it's mostly empty now and theres also gearbox, tranny and engines laying around.

I then wished I just gone to work after blood test because while moving defender around after unhitching trailer I caught front tyre on a scrap engine and tore off the tyre valve. So I quickly wanted to turn truck around and park back on drive way behind gates before tyre went completely flat. I then reversed and knocked down a neighbours 10 inch square fence post - totally sheared it at base! took a couple of fence panels with it too. Joy.   That 35 quid isn't going to go very far!

Today the car got to earn its keep. Been dragging the big trailer about swapping seeps accommodation got the turbo going good and proper. That said it was towing like jelly, first thought was tyre pressures but further investigation lead to the tow ball being about an inch too low, so swapped that for my ball and pin and fingers crossed we should be good. Just need to make it all detachable for playing now not that a few bolts is an issue in reality.

Was happy celebrating my Disco getting to 100,000 on the clock with no engine problems

200 miles later it drank all its coolant and pumped out loads of white smoke on start up. So today it's getting a piggy back to a garage

Will teach me to be positive about the old girl - just a shame she chose to go FUBAR just after I SORN the 90! (do LR's communicate to each other to pick the worse time to break?)

This evening, and tomorrow, I'll be ripping the old 2.5TD and LT77 out of Daisy in preparation for the fully rebuilt V8 (and mildly tweaked.... it would have been rude not to!) to go in with an LT85 and rebuilt transfer box

Today I have fitted a new semi springer antenna for the radio as with the old one unless I was under a transmission mast all I got for radio4 was static. I also cleared all the crap and tools out of the dash and behind the seats into a suitable lock box which is locked in the boot so hopefully no more random squeaky rattles from lose kit trying to drown out the rest of the noise of the car falling to bits.

Hi Andy. Hope you are well.

It's a 3.5 at +0.020" with 9.35:1 pistons, Peter Burgess heads, 3.9 cam, roller chain, tubular manifolds and Janspeed exhaust. I was considering re-sleeving it to 3.9, but I had to keep the costs in check a little!

It's a bit of a pain I had modded my TD5 bulkhead for the LT77.... it now needs to go back the way it was to suit the LT85

Spangly new 1.2:1 LT230 coming from Ashcrofts next week too

Today I cracked on with some gardening. Even had to do a second trip to the local waste site. So the forest has cleared and we even ripped out a lot of dead plants to make a new wheelie bin place near the back gate. excellent, no more BS dragging the bins down the garden path/former obstruction course.

Oh and I saw an advert for "The Valleys" on MTV. I think this is going to be a BAAAAAd representation lol. Welsh and Proud.

Yesterday l finished setting my drag link up properly. Today I'm looking at why my handbrake lever is not sitting down flat when released. I suspect a broken return spring or a snapped cable.

Have been looking at V6 and V8's, since the boss made me buy a Focus diesel.
Have to sell a 4x4 to make space for it too, but wont go quietly into the bland eurobox assimilation!

Made a pair of brackets to fit over the Series 1 top door hinge to allow the useless wing mirrors to be relocated to the doors. They actual have some use now.

I am home from work ill and waiting for operation and that wee job wiped me out but I can't bare being laid up doing nothing.

Cleaned up 4l of ep90 that had leaked out into the land rover tub..... dogs found the puddle first.

Fitted a BAREBOX in the tub of the series one to hold bits n bobs. http://www.barebox.co.uk/

Fitted a new memory foam mattress into the roof tent. 55 quid for custom size one to be made up - pretty good value.

Converted a foot locker into a cubby box that fits under the Defenders driver seat so that I could house a HUGE leisure battery there.
Plumbed it back to the passenger cubby where the main battery is housed.
The 10mm cable on the positive goes through a regular battery cut-out switch so that I can manually 'switch' in the leisure battery to start the car if needed or to give some extra cranking current (makes a big difference!).
The leisure battery side of the cut-out switch is plumbed to the AUX fuse panel which supplies the HAM/CB radio, Car PC, Eberspacher night heater, work lamps and in car power sockets.
Across the cut-out switch terminal posts is where the X-ENG split charge relay is wired in parallel. So with the cut-out switch in the off position the split charge handles the charging of the leisure battery once the engine is running and keeps it isolated when ignition is off.
