just my view but if was booking mine in for any job like that i would have asked for a wriiten estimate before hand. That way there is no nasty surprise.
In answer to your question YES it does sound bloody expensive, especially for a 300 tdi.
200tdi over 200kmiles
+2"lift.
Procomp Es9000 shocks
235 MT's on silver modulars
diff guards
tank guard
Paidia4x4 winch bumper.
Discoparts HD rear bumper.
Champion 10000N winch
CB and CDplayer
Safari snorkel
modified turbo actuator vac pipe pick up.
twin batteries with Paidia4x4 split charge system
roof lightbar

that does seem rather steep!
altho ive not done a landrover timing belt at work, ive done plenty of other makes and we charge anywhere between 190 and 250 ish for a timing belt replacement including guide pulleys and tensioners that come in the kit.
its a bit late now tho as the garage has done the work and will want paying for it.
its always best to get an estimate before major jobs, as has already been said.

what seals?

There is a crank seal in the outer housing and one behind the bottom belt sprocket. I could be that these were changed also.
