Redundancy consultation what crap
« on: December 19, 2012, 00:01:47 »
Well received my Christmas present from work on Monday. Need to make cut backs and its been identified that your a risk.

[bollards] only two of us in the UK get it and in different roles. Been told just the process and after meeting I will be made redundant.

Been told to work out want I want to ask for as a package. Erm a job would be good or how about 12mths wages.

Get your self a meeting with citizens advice, they will be able to work it through so you get the best settlement or even keep your job if your employer has not followed the rules properly.

Well today was last day. They weren't even bothered about a hand over. The UK boss even said he will tell they they can contact me and I can give my rates.

Now will see career advisor in the new year and see what they suggest I can do and get my CV sorted.

It is contemptible behavior on their part at the very least. What you can't afford to do though is loose focus on getting over this hiccup and pushing forward. Take proper advice but don't let it be the end of the world. Been there and done it, yes it sucks at the time but keep going and soon you will be able to sit back in a new job and think to yourself its all their loss.
