Anyone fitted extended disco 1 arches

Just bought some 50mm exended arches. Had a big shock when i offered them up to my disco. Looks like tou have to cut off [PooPoo] loads of your arches . Any step by step pics would be appreciated as i dont want to cut off too much lol

I have fitted 75mm flatdog arch's to my disco . Yes it is a bit daunting when you first hold them against the wing I used a jigsaw with a metal blade to cut the wings ,the best advice I can give you is get someone to hold the arch in place mark the wing then  cut out less than you think you need to try the arch in place again and  cut again just cut small small amouts at a time.The Fronts are ok
but if you have a 5 door the rears are not so easy,just take it slowly you will be fine.

It was a while ago but here's a photo of what I took off mine when I fitted the fibreglass arches.


Measure around the top of the new arch to get the correct position and mark the holes, best the tape the new arch in position to do this.
In the instructions that came with my arches I think it said to measure 3 inches in from the outside of the new arch for the cut line. But that's only from memory, hopefully yours have their own instructions. 

When I was cutting my rear arches I used a piece of wood clamped to the cut part of the arch to stop it from flapping around as I got to the top of the cut.
Oh, and make sure you align the new arch to the centre of the wheel as you only get one chance!!

i offered the arches up to my truck then took out an 8 inch angle grinder and did a texas chainsaw massacre impression!!
take off less than you need then you can always trim more off as you need to!

beware!! once its cut off you cant put it back on again!!
