fun and friendly?
« on: May 05, 2005, 17:34:08 »
Dear all

As some of you may know me I may come over as a bit of a clown always ready to have a laugh and joke and enjoy the fun, the friendly banter of this great club of ours is fantastic and made some great friends
However there have been some dig's made about some of the posts that I have replied to.

I'm employed as a Alarm Monitoring Centre Controller 24/7 shift pattern and I’m responsible for the estate across the country, in my spare time I'm heavily involved with St John Ambulance where I’m in the process of training up to be a SJA ambulance Technician so every Tuesday Night myself and my colleagues train for every possibility including the use of Defibrillators and the use of medical Gases. So far I supported em&em and due to support GREENDAY at MK BOWL for 2 days this year where I could be on a First Aid post or doing 1st response work which means dealing with collapses and anything we are called upon. Also doing Scrambles at Whaddon which pushes us even further in the use of emergency first aid. So I do like to play when I get chance

So the responsibility I have is a fair bit so to speak I have a been to Romania twice and heavily involved with youth work as well as events and project support in and around the MK area for a long time.

I'm 32 I have been married and went through a messy divorce, which wasn't particularly very nice.

However for my relaxation I enjoy getting out side and playing in my Land Rover and enjoy the closeness of this club which last year saved me from going of my head due to an operation, I admit I might not much about off roading but I’m always ready and willing to learn from others and help other's out either by towing as anchor or a friendly listening ear.

What I do object to and I’m to blame on this and I hold my hands up is other members having a dig when there's no need for it some of the reply's I put on here may be a bit long winded and I apologise for that however sometimes method in madness in to get a view or a point over so that everybody can understand what I’m saying.

I also admit that I won't be renewing my membership with my Local 4X4 club as they meet on a Tuesday night and Tuesday as I said before I train for injuries that I hope that may never happen to people.

Thats Why i'm on MUD CLUB

However if these digs carry on then I shall be forced to complain to the mud-club forum administrators

So if people want to have a chat with have or me a dig please call me my no. Is 07970526072 e-mail is land1rover@hotmail.com

Again I apologise for the tone of this post and I don’t mean to upset members of this club.

Wow   Have I missed something?

I know you and your style pretty well from this forum and met you briefly at Towcester ... I think ... didn't I?

Anyway, I sure hope I've not said anything to offend and if I have - point me to it and I will appologise! I sure hope others will too!

Well done for saying this publicly and I hope no one on this here forum said anything in spite.

Daz,

I hope this is all just a misunderstanding.  Forums can be difficult places sometimes because it can be difficult to determine the tone of a post.  I've had to apologise / clarify my posts to people in the past when they have mis-interpreted the message.

Your presence and input within the club is, of course, as welcome as anyone else's and it was a pleasure to have you camping with us at Towcester.  (even though you are a bit mad).

I hope this doesn't become an issue, and that the posts to which you refer were not meant to cause the upset they clearly have.

If you have problems or issues, then I think I speak for all the moderators and admins in saying that we will do our utmost to ensure they are resolved.

You've got me worried now Daz. I hope it wasn't my comments to Mace about Tricky Dickey.

In case it was. They are the words to to an Ian Drury and the Blockheads song.

It's one of the perils of being famous mate ;-)

After a while you have to just try to ignore the obvious digs and attempts to get a rise ..  not always easy, but it's the only way to stay sane....   It's a shame that people take such delight in trying to get a bite... trust me... I know better than most

Dazza, You just be yourself. Tazman and I have both been through messy divorces and we found each other on a blind date (don't laugh)  Happily married for 5 years now. Forums can be strange places. In fact even emails can be taken the wrong way - its one of those odd forms of communication and depends how good your English is and interrpretation of :?  I've learnt to ignore alot of the c**p these days and just adopt a thick skin.  The work you're doing is fantastic and I salute you. I work with medics everyday using equipment to save lives - its really tough and can get you down at times but like you, I always see the bright side which is why I like to have a giggle, make people happy again. Watching your Father die and not being able to do anything about it = Faith :(  You keep on doing what you're doing - BE YOU :D

Old Indian Proverb......

It's better to have people laugh with you to your face than to have them laugh at you behind your back.

I do hope that those digging are doing it with you Daz and not the other way.

Me. I prefer it straight up front. If I have a problem I like to clarify things first then jump in :)

Don't let them grind you down mate.

Old Joe,
My old Dad, God rest him, was for many years a member
of the St.Johns A.B.
He made sargeant and was also made a serving Brother complete with
scroll.
I attended many events with him, and reading your post brought
back may memories...some happy, some sad.

Keep up the good work mate, without people like you,
many public events just wouldn't take place.
regards,
Paul Shapter.
