Disco electrical snags.
« on: August 08, 2013, 10:25:47 »
Hi guys. New motor this te. 1995 Discovery, 300tdi. So far, apart from rust, I have a few niggles electrically. The heated rear window doesn't work, no light on switch or relay click, rear wiper doesn't work, rear spray doesn't work, passenger front door doesn't lock with central locking.

Any help on these would be appreciated.

Thanks.

first of all you need to check the fuses. I f they are o.k i would check the connectors at the rear where the tailgate harness joins the interior harness which should be either in the rubber sleeve or behind the o/s/r speaker.
As far as the drivers door could be the actuator on the door lock but you would need to remove the door trim and check for power at the actuator ect. first.

hope this helps

On the 300 TDi a lot of the circuits you mention are controlled by the MFU and it's attached to the back of the main fuse box.  It also has a diagrnostic test but I can't remember how to access that.
The central locking could be the lock that's stiff, all the actuators work together but they are controlled by the alarm unit.
