Ill health means I need to review my projects and be sensible (for a change ). That has made me decide a Discovery diesel auto is prefect for my needs (auto, power steering, big enough to carry my mobility scooter etc).
Whilst I don' mind some work I definitely don't want a project so current MOT essential - as is sound chassis. I'd expect body to possibly require TLC to load area floor, sills, rear body crossmember, inner rear door arches, inner front wings - basically I know all the common D1 rot areas as owned a 200TDi ages ago and that was rusty at 6 years old Mechanical problems such as leaking PAS box, worn discs, shocks, exhaust, etc are normal for a Land Rover so again wouldn't put me off as long a car still drivable until repaired.
Cloth rather than leather interior preferred but obviously that can easily be changed so not too important.
No ex off roaders or seriously modified - I want a 100% standard / original vehicle to cherish.
Limited budget so please be gentle. My max is £1500 for something in good all round condition (chassis, body, mechanical & interior) with long MOT and needing nothing other than normal maintenance. This budget figure drops depending on any work, condition, MOT and such so when repaired to an acceptable standard purchase price plus repairs still under the £1500.
Cheers.
