Consider this:
In 1978...
 - the Pope died
 - Wales won the Six Nations
 - Liverpool lost in the final of the League Cup to the eventual League Champions... ... and Liverpool won the European Cup.

In 2005...
 - the Pope has died
 - Wales have won the Six Nations
 - Liverpool lost in the final of the League Cup to the eventual League Champions...
... and so Liverpool will win the Champions League??

If you're not convinced?
What about 1981:
 - Prince Charles gets married
 - Ken and Deirdre get married in Coronation Street
 - A new Doctor Who is appointed...
... and Liverpool win the European Cup.

And 2005:
 - Prince Charles gets married
 - Ken and Deirdre get married in Coronation Street
 - A new Doctor Who is appointed...
... so Liverpool will win the European Cup ???

Makes you wonder, doesn't it.
