I have recently brought an old 2.25L petrol 90, it is fitted with an electric fan and the cowling from the radiator to the engine has been removed.

However the original fan is still in place, can this be removed.   I have been told that if I take it off I need to replace it with a spacer..?

Tony.

Almost certainly, if it is anything like the series 2.25 fan or the 2.5 as fited to my 88" then you just unbolt it from the end of the water pump shaft and that's it.

I've been known to take the fan blades off my 88" before venturing into deep water and replace after, so it's not a big job.
Cheers
