Gearbox / Transfer box oil change
« on: January 17, 2004, 15:06:39 »
I know where the drain plugs are, but where are the filling points ?

It is a V8i Automatic, 300 series 1995 on an M Plate. I believe the gearbox is a R380.

Cheers

The main gearbox filler is located on the drivers side of the gearbox, the best way of filling is via a hose and funnel fed down from the engine bay, you will need a Torx bit to remove the plug.
The transfer box filler is located on the rear of the transfer box to the left of the handbrake drum. The plug can be removed with a half inch ratchet.

do yourself a favour and buy one of the big syringe type fluid transfer pumps from machine mart, think mine was 9 quid and does 500cc a shot, long flexi tube and makes the job so much easier and tidier.
