Will I be able to remove the lower part of my bumper to show all the bits and bobs behind there, and soon a steering guard in it's place. Or do i have to buy a new bumper ????????

It's reasonably easy :)

The lower valance has a number of fixings (screws, bolts, can't remember!). Once you've removed the central valance, you'll need to trim the end caps. As you've got a 300 (?) there should be a visible "line" that lines up with the bottom of the bumper. Careful use of a jigsaw will have your endcaps trimmed in a few minutes! And that's it :D

Have a look at my pictures http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/gords/gallery/bumper_trim to give you an idea of what it'll look like.

Well, yes ... you could start it off the way I did - smack it into the ground while pay-n-playing

Must say I've always kept mine on. Only ever caught it the once when I got stuck at Whitworth and had to pulled out backwards and one of the light pods popped out.

Sorry but looks OTT to me, maybe I not trying as hard as Colin  :?:

I took mine off and fitted a steering guard the day before the Wales trip last year (with topple). I got stuck/couldn't get up a step on a rutted track - and it was the steering guard that was hitting the ground   Not much chance the valance would have survived

Last rip I lost one of my roof rack mounted fog lights.. cant get those anymore so aim gonna move the last one to the rear, and get new ones for the roof rack.. spots this time..

And there arent that many 4x4 shops here.. ist all at the "souks" ie markets.. haggle time!
