Wheel bearing
« on: June 07, 2005, 18:37:53 »
Just heard a crack coming home today wheel bearing collapsed   just stripped it down the inner bearing looks as if it has been getting hot cooked all the grease and dried out. Was just wondering if Guy could give me some tips on putting the new one in.

I best keep quiet but it shouldn't be getting hot. How long since you fitted it/greased it? Did the seal look OK?

Cliff has done this job recently so he's probably best to ask.

I think the bearing must have been on the way out for a bit. fresh grease on the outer bearing but not on the inner one. it's lasted the two years that i have had tyson and what ever before i had it. So i carn't complain :). They don't last long in some other land rovers as i understand  Mine you best not say to much as this one might not last
