Out with the V8 Auto, in with the 300tdi Auto!!
« on: June 11, 2005, 15:46:05 »
"Right thats it!  Im going diesel!!!!!     "

Was roughly what I said at Billing in April when I drowned it.  When you run a fully tricked up hybrid that dies in the water and then a standard Disco sails past you, you get a bit miffed...

So I bit the bullet and bought this : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4554525995&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Which has the auto box as well as the 300tdi and its going into the hybrid!

I'll keep you all posted with pics so you can see how the jobs progessses!

WISH ME LUCK!!!!  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D
Ashley (but everyone knows me as Ash...)

Cheers all.

I thought £1000 for a 300tdi and auto box is quite good especially as its not even hit the 100k mark!

Billing mud run here I come!!!!!

I must say, since i started this off roading lark i  allways thought V8 power.
Such a nice sound and that power (woof!)
But, it does'nt matter how much you spend on making a good off roader if it conks in the wet stuff.
Hence why my new project is Tdi powered.
Good luck landyman.
Keep us posted with it (pictures, problems)

I hope you don't regret this move as I know how much you like the sound of the V8 , oh if you are not using those SU Carbs does our deal still stand ie I make you a center console in exchange for them

Yeah deal still stands!  You can have the SUs.

Well went over and took the TDi disco for a spin and the engine is a mint!!  Flys better then my one.  Everything is now unbolted and Friday we lift it out and then i pick it up and bring it home ready to go to Eastnor Castle and look for any other bits I need!

Thanks for all the support guys!  Pics to follow very soon!
