ebay - BE WARNED

had an unfortunate experience on ebay last week. I logged in to check a couple of defender spares I was watching and to my amazement i was selling a job lot of 42" plasma screens as well as a host of other items. my seller fees were over £300.
I'm still trying to get to the bottom of how it happened.
I immediately changed ALL my passwords, not just ebay.
Ebay corrected the listings immediatley and creditied back the seller fees so all is in order now.
I run a very tight ship security wise with no personal information what so ever stored on my pc which sits behind a router with a firewall and a second firewall on the pc (Norton). There are no viruses etc on the machine and if there are any malicious attempts to install any software or modify settings prevx software stops it and warns what is going on.
The moral of this story - BE WARNED IT COULD HAPPEND TO YOU.

It already has
About a year ago I got suspended from ebay for selling mobile phones, 50 of them and then not posting the goods off
Finally after 3 weeks of emails to ebay I got it sorted and was cleared of all charges, so yes it does happen

One tip to help you out is to turn on the 'Daily Status' email in My eBay... that way you get an overview of all the items you are buying and selling every day. Also make sure you have listing confirmations switched on in the same preferences screen.
The eBay system sends an email notification if the registered email address is changed, so this is a reasonable way to keep an eye one things.
