What a day!
« on: June 18, 2005, 19:36:44 »
I've been flat out since 7:30am!
Raced to macess to buy service parts and tube (to finish breathers) and bracket (to make good my 2nd electric socket)
Got home, quick bit of breakie then Skywalker (David) and his misses Elaine turned up to collect his roof rack. Much coffee later and we set of to SWMBO's mums (where i've been storing said roof rack). Helped fit it on to Dave's car and waved good bye.
Back home and off with NSF wheel from Big Blue. After reading the post the other day about the lad that was crushed by his motor i decided that, safety first and put two stands under the axle. Then changed caliper and shoes. Changed oil/filter. Fitted new spark plugs (V grooved electrode NGK's) and new 8mm yellow HT leads. Scratched arms and knuckles to pieces!!
Off with the OSF wheel and changed the pads. Put together new raised breathers (from both axles) and routed them to top of snorkle.
Undid the tow ball from Challenger and fitted new bracket for 2nd electrics (now i can run my fridge on the way to Billing, COLD DRINK ON ARRIVAL)
Finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, Doctor Who and several Smirnoff's with my name on
Thank g*d thats over with for another day.
I thank you
 :D

400 mile round trip just to give Jake some money to spend at Billing

Good day though nice to meet Jake and his great family  :D

Must pay more attention to GPS   it said go on M40 so I did
unfortunately  WEST     instead of EAST  :D

Never mind,. 15 mins detour saw us back on route to Scorpion, bit of a traffic jam near bottom of M1 / North Circular,  missed turning, great big Tesco Lorry parked accross it,     ,back thro traffic, round again, got there about 1:45 ish

to find

50% of stock had gone to Eastnor

Still got a few bits, had a coffee, got on M1 and queued for about 20 miles (no air con on Disco either)

Oh well home for 7:30pm to find I forgot to put beer in fridge

It's in freezer NOW though, so feet up for now

Estnor was HOT, loads of trade stands, brilliant falconary display. Only downside was that the exit and the off road que intermingaled and it took me 30 mins to get off the site :-(

Too hot to be doing anything so I did nothing 8) . Hayfever was pretty grim though

Had a brief trip in Rokcrawlin's new Range Rover which I was somewhat dissapointed to discover didn't have AC

As it will be hot tomorrow then I will be doing nothing tomorrow either.

What's happened to this country :?  :? . It used to be cold and wet. Roll on Winter

Finished digging out several tree-stumps from the front side-garden this morning.
Not huge great things, but the biggest was about 3foot tall, 18inch diameter, and with a root-ball about 2foot across.
Damn bl**dy heavy (full of earth) as I found out picking them up to place on the wall before dropping into the trailer.
Took them to the land-fill, & dumped them.

Bought 6 railway sleepers, put them in the trailer, carried them into the lower garden once home.
Shovelled a level base for them, picked them up & placed into postion under a row of about 20 Conifers, back-filled with gravel.
Filled trailer up with top-soil from the banking where the stumps were in the front side-garden ready for the land-fill tomorrow.

Shave & a (very welcome) shower, then Pizza Hut.
Super Supreme deep crust (large to myself) 4 Pepsi-Max's & 3 dishes of Ice-Cream.
Home in time for Dr Who. What could be better?
Missed 'Battle Of Britain' though

and there's me just spending all day lying on the couch basking in the cooling breeze of my aircon unit and occasionally wating people sweating to death outside, (in between watching movies and cartoons and eating biscuits)

Ahh...

Perhaps life isn't that bad after all :D

it's a 9000 BTU portable thingy which I got from homebase when I saw the weather reports.

£150 for the unit I got, which has kept the flat at a comfortable temperature all day, the bathroom on the other hand has been hot, muggy and horrible :)

It's also managed to pull nearly a pint and a half of water out of the air, so it's been a lot more comfortable in here than it otherwise would have been.
