Just got back from Eastnor . WOW what a weekend (weather) is anyone else as burnt as we were. We found Tim slaving away and spoke to him but was surprised not to see a bigger MUD CLUB presence :shock:  :shock:  :? can only hope to see more at BILLING 8)

We were there - arrived late Saturday (2pm-ish?), camped in the last/furthest away field, didn't manage to find Tim/Muddyweb or see another Mud Clubber to speak to.

I did see a green Disco in the off-road queue on Sunday am and saw the chris9119 motor parked just outside the queueing area - were you marshalling Chris?

We went for the intermediate course - and were pretty disapointed actually :(  I asked the marshall about the "extreme" course and he said "they were towing cars out with tractors yesterday" so I gave it a miss. Kind of wish I hadn't now :roll:

I had a nice relaxing weekend and finally bought my MC stickers off Tim.  Just sorry for the traders they were not busier.

I have a terrible feeling next years Eastnor is going to be even quiter.  

Anyway, got to dash, got to put my aftersun on again.

The visitors who were there either got completely lost in the "layout" or couldn't be bothered to walk the length and breadth of the valley to find anything.  (again)

I have to say, it did come across more as a bunch of traders in a field, than as an organised show.

I queued for about 3/4 hour for the off-road course, which was pretty much like a green lane when I think about it - nothing in the way of steep hills, mud sumps, lakes, cross-axling hummocks, or anything.

I enjoyed myself mainly because of bumping into people I knew, but I'm not sure I'd rush to go again!

Well i walked twice round the traders and could not find you Tim!!!!  Thats how badly laid out it was.  It was only when I found a fellow MC member that they directed me to you!!

I did have a good time but its terribly organised.  I booked tickets for all my club members that arrived WEDNESDAY before we went so I had not time to sedn them out AND they were short!  Ordered 11 and got 7!  Spend Friday night trying to get members in and chasing tickets.

When you want a relaxing weekend, at least send the tickets out a few weeks before!

I think as a club we may give it a miss next year, we'll see what members want.

Just by chance, I got a ticket for free (just for Sunday) from a chap who'd trashed his wheel bearings. I'm extremely glad I didn't pay - I did the intermediate course, as the extreme course was described as very extreme by the marshall (in the queue).

My boys were very bored (they are used to MUCH more) and my wife said it was so easy, she could have driven it!

We followed someone who only seemed to have low-1st. I had to keep stopping! Oh yes, we came across a marshall standing next to a "caution" sign. Apparently, it was a steep descent/corner through a narrow gate - we were advised to go slowly in 1st ... oh please, it was no problem at all :roll:  I know - they have to cater for all...

As for the "show" - they should have set up a train or something to get people from one end to the other.

Well, the main purpose was to do a camping night test before our holiday and we managed to get some nice bags that strap to the roof rack (for the holiday)...

I'm rather glad I didn't make the trip over on Sunday now.

In my humble opinion I think there are far too many shows now on the calendar.

Roll on billing hope things are better there.

If the veiws expressed by a few of the other traders was owt to go by, I don't think that Mr & Mrs Web will be the only folk giving it a miss next year. Where were the visitors? A lowly turnout by anyones standards.

A mate in a 130 did the Extreme course and claimed it be 'like green laning but without the challenge', comprising mostly gravel tracks. Oooooooh dear......

Eastnor is a lovely setting, but it's just that the show ain't that well done :roll: .

Ive been to Eastnor every year since it moved from West Wycombe, I feel the surroundings for a Land Rover show are the best on offer it's just a shame the organisers dont put more effort in making the enthusiasts feel more welcome. They seem to talk it up every year getting our hopes up ,and as has been previously mentioned , we arrive to find the same shambles.
When we arrived we were directed to our Club Camping slot, "set up where you like" we were told as we came past the organisers cabin so we did ,only to then be told to reset up our caravan as we had been told nothing about lines or gangways . This straight away knocks the edge off what could be a fantastic show.
As for stretching the show ,there were vast empty spaces between each section which only served in my opinion to make the walk from the Club camping an expedition as I know that quite a few people did not get to see all of the attractions as they were to far apart .
I wont say that I will not go again to Eastnor as I do like the site  but I do feel that perhaps LRW should really sit down and get views from across the spectrum of the various attendees so they could try to please more who attend , or perhaps return to the West Wycombe site  :idea:

Hi all. I was new to all this and last years eastnor was the first show we did, I enjoyed last year but not this one, I know we all moan whatever the weather but walking through fields & fields to no where in the blistering heat wasn't enjoyable and left us fealing quite ill no matter how much we drank, the extream course, considering the warnings of 'you'll break it!!' was a little less than i was expecting and having spoke to the traders thay were a little fed up. beautiful surroundings but not sure we would return, think we would rather billing  or peterborough... we spent 4 hours walking around trying to find the mud stand having been directed all over by the marshalls/organiser caravan.. not impressed by the organisation, sorry.

Well this was my fourth trip to Eastor, and each year it seems to be getting more 'low key'.
(I'll probalby go again, but only because I am in the ALFC and know I'll have a larf with them regardless.
Frankly as a show Billing and even Peterborough are way better. (shame LRO dont use Stoneleigh any more though.)
