progressive springs
« on: June 28, 2005, 20:33:31 »
I've decided to fit a 1" lift to the Disco, I've already bought the springs, dampers and new turret rings, But I need to know which way round to fit the progressive springs :?: I think the tighter turns go at the bottom but i'm sure someone out there can confirm/deny it for me

Cheers,
Gary.

An untechnical reply....

With the tighter coils at the top it's easier to get the mud out at the bottom. :)

fhew, just fitted mine on my range pick over the weekend & we tossed a coin as to which way round they had to go,  we got it right, but put the heavy ones on the front as its got a 3.8 perkins in & was sitting very low on the front due to no wieght on the rear,

thanks john.

ps:- blower? (newby to 4x4)

Tighter turns at the top - it makes it easier to get the retaining bar fastened on the rear springs!

I SAID dear landrover dealer, it makes the RETAINING bar easier to fit. Thats the RETAINING BAR, yes that two quid bit that you promised me last week that is HOLDING my 2" lift up...
You can have my iPod only when you prise it out of my cold dead hands...
