Why the heck should hotmail want you to forward an email to THEIR customers?

can I just point out that if they were running out of resources spamming all their users countless times is hardly going to help is it ?

it's rubbish, and rather obvious rubbish at that

Sounds like a rouse used by spammers for collecting as many 'live' e-mail addresses as they can. Then they can spam you and 20 of your friends.

Report it to Hotmail.

It is viral spamming - like a chain letter, it's propagated by people under their own free will.  It is absolutely not genuine.
