hi all
can anyone tell me the best (and cheapest) places to get basic service items like air,oil and fuel fillters from
thanks adam

Best bets are the mail order companies....
Paddock Spares (http://www.paddockspares.com/)
Land Rover Parts Shop (http://www.land-rover-parts-shop.com)
Mansfield Motors (http://www.mansfieldmotorsltd.com)
There will be plenty more suggestions I'm sure, and which is cheapest will depend on the time of year.
Also, if you can wait for a week or so, you will get all the parts from somewhere like Billing for even less money.

www.difflock.com do a service kit
in the past i usually bought my filters from rimmer bros and oils from halfords or local auto shop
but i did a job lot of oils/filters etc from difflock and it was cheaper

I've used Difflock a few times - just got my oil, oil filter, fuel filter, etc from them. Very good service :)

If you order over £50 from Paddocks they do free postage, also take into account that if you are servicing it, its worth getting at least a second set of bits at the same time.

or your local motor factors, it worked out cheaper for me by the time i had taken into account postage
the oil i *borrow* from work :-$

Why not put a K&N air filter in - it will cost you more but won't need looking at for 50,000 miles and won't need replacing for a long time after that. Meanwhile your engine will breathe better & performance/economy can improve.
