Title: Lifting props and castor correction
Post by: Wanderer on July 04, 2005, 12:28:59
Well.......

I took off the QT Castor correcting arms and replaced them with a standard set.

The rumbling I had been getting was gone.

I'd made so many changes that making a firm diagnosis was getting difficult but we've got changing the radius arms down to 1 hour for the pair.

So double cardon joint must be the way to go. When I can get a flange :)

Good news then Ed, glad you've found the problem and are mobile again.  :D

No luck with finding a flange yet then?

Not yet Budgie. At least I've got a bit more time to sort it out.

Kev
I went with someone to look at a Disco on Sunday and they happened to have another set. The nuts I had went straight on. I can onl think we caught the others taking them off.

They did take a tapping I remember that, no probs, I'll pick them up and have a play in the workshop to clean the threads down, have a look round for a thread nut as well, anybody know what the thread on the front trailing arms on a 200tdi is?

Big!, try giving propshaft technology in Rotherham a call. Sorry haven't got their number to hand but Andy knows more than a thing or 2 and they are very cheap compared with a lot of places.
