hi again all. just a quick question. is there a drain plug on a 200 disc bell housing. seems that i have a little clutch fluid inside the bell housing. i need to get it out. its not a huge amount but its there.any ideas?

It's on the very bottom of the bellhousing. They are usually open unless someone has fitted wading plugs.

grrrrr...seems that the last owner has left the wadding plug in and he rounded it off while fitting it. been trying to get it out for hours now but still no luck.
gotta get it out to drain the clutch fluid out of the bell housing

It's corroded in because it's a steel plug in an Ali housing. Try soaking it in WD for a few hours and try to remove it when the engine/box are hot, very hot, as Ali expands more than steel. Also I think it's a tapered thread so you can't drill it and hope it will spin through, if you get stuck drill it oout and use a stud extractor (LH thread) to get a grip on it.

IIRC on mine the plug is parallel with a sealing flat under the head end, trouble is the sealing washer gets lost then the threads bind if tightend until the flats seats....
Either way lost of Plus-gas (WD isn't penetrative enough) and heat is the best bet, then 24" stilsons!!!

Try cutting a slot in it, then use a London Bladed screwdriver to undo it.

well guys.here the update for ya. i tried everything to get the drain plug out but it wasnt going anywhere. i had to get the clutch fluid out of the bellhousing. so took the drastic action of drilling a 5mm hole in the lowest point of the housing. asoon as i got the hole drilled that nice sweet smelling clutch fluid strated pouring.........down my drill ( inc inside ) and down my arm pit.......it burned quite alot aswell :shock:
i have been driving her around all day and the transofmation is massive. i think the clutch palte is drying out now as its not slipping anymore. 8) ...looks like i had a lucky escape there.

I know it's a ;ittle late but couldn't you have removed the blanking plate from the front of the clutch housing?

i got mine out with a cold chisel and a hammer, gave it one crack on the outside edge and out she popped
