It'll pass if you bang on a bit of straight pipe

You don't actually need a rear silencer box, but you will fail if yours has fallen off.

When this happened on my 110" I just welded on a bit of straight pipe and a 45 degree bend... total cost £0  :D

Providing you do fit a pipe to extend it out the side or rear of
the vehicle it will pass the MOT, My back box has been removed
and a straight throught pipe fitted in it's place.

MOT tester sat at my side states if it is sealed and not rotten or loud you may get away with that.  Silencer not required.  Looks like you may be OK if you add the pipe.

True, mine did the same, no probs, apart from the pipe breaking again a few weeks later an inch from where I welded the extension

Should do if it exits properly/safely as others have said, mine only has the back box, the over heavy centre box broke and was replaced with a straight through pipe, less stress on the turbo/mounts from the swinging load as well, not such an issue with a v8 perhaps (same system after all, but two manifolds to stop it swinging).
