I am thinking about getting some @ the Malvern show.  when I was @ Billing I had a look around and was going to buy the Rebel 4x4 ones for £160.00 they seem to be as good as the scorpion ones for £295.00 but without the tree bars on. Only reason I did'nt get them then was they were out of stock. anyone got any better ideas?

I do have the means to make my own but don't have the time  :(

ive got the rebel ones on my disco ive had no problems with them and they have saved my sills loads of time i recommend them :D

i have just bought mine from Mill Services and they work out at about £160 delivered inc the dreaded!!! OH and they are "Galvonised"

I'd rather have galvanised than coated because galv still works when it's been scratched.

If I were to swap mine I'd go for ones that protrude a lilttle more to protect the paintwork, also to keep the hi-lift away from the doors.

Whilst on the subject I think that jacking under the sill sin a last resort, they deflect too much I don't like having them bolted to the body but the chassis brackets are a bit poo.  The ones from Firstt 4 off road look really good and have a substantial bracket.  Only thing is they tried to make them look like a standard sill and that's just not 'angry' enough for my car (Boom's decrition), though I might put a pair on the stock motor.

Got to admit that (on a purely personal basis) I'd like a set that mimics the shape of the existing trim, or hides behind it.

I've seen some plans/directions for making a set, but my welding is well out of practice & was like Pigeon-poo anyway :roll:

Now I can't find the link, it was for a set that fitted behind the trim panel

Go and have a look at the Mill Services ones... not certain if he is going to Malvern, but I think he is from my last conversation with him.

If finance is the issue,  I reckon that for the money he charges, it is hardly worth messing around trying to get materials, etc. and making them yourself.    Of course, if you just want to make them for the challenge, then fair enough.... the biggest issue is getting them to curve with the sills nicely.
