can the dust shields or whatever they are called be removed and left off safely
they seem to trap mud terribly

They trap stones and make nice grooves in the discs :-(

yep mine are going to be coming off next week!

We need someone to make soft plastic shields! so that any stones just fall out without being wedged! :D

although saying that discovered on my dads 110 if you drive on forrest roads alot that with the shields off a set of pads lasts 1000 miles,with them fitted still going strong after 2 years,just my 2 euros worth

I chucked mine and dont seem to have any probs but i do change the pads every 8-10 mts to stop the piston coming out to far and wrecking the seals
