Title: p38 central locking

hiya folks, i,ve got a problem with the central locking, it keeps locking and unlocking itself while driving or left unlocked, anybody else had this problem or have any ideas what it might be before i start taking things apart  :D

right wheer to start,had this prob on a rangie before & replaced both front door latches (£100 +v) & it cured that problem,BUT does it do it when you are driving it or only after you park up & leave it unlocked as some p38's have an auto closer setup which locks its self after 10/15 min

it does it while driving too not all the time though so it would appear an intermitent fault, more annoying than anything

This could be nothing more than stiff linkages in one (more likely both) of the front doors.  If the  locks fail to move fully, the other door will try and unlock the car again, then the first re-locks it etc ...

Try taking the door cards off, and lubricating the lock linkages before spending loads of your hard-earned dosh.
