I voted yes. Not for the stuff that's already in the workshop manuals but the bits that aren't. That's why I wrote the one on DIY ABS diagnostics, because the Haynes and Workshop manuals both simply tell you to take the car to the dealer to be diagnosed. Things like fitting steering guards or doing a 2" suspension lift are never covered in the manuals, neither are common modifications that they can't endorse such as blanking off the EGR on a 300Tdi. If people also include the boring details such as spanner sizes and things like 'You can't fit a ratchet in there so use a ..." these things save us all so much time when we come to do it ourselves.

I've gone for a 'YES' but I haven't got any requests for features (or any to add myself), but I looked recently at the ones in there, and was impressed by the way they used ENGLISH rather than technobabble.

I don't have a specific topic request, but as has been already said - stuff that's not already in the haynes manual, or where they say "take to a mechanic" :wink:

I voted yes and think that even if the job is in the manual sometimes seeing it done a different way or with better colour photos can be very helpfull.
As the old saying goes there is more than one way to skin a cat :D
Also the fitting of extras like Winches, Spotlights etc... I think are helpfull and give people an idea of what to expect before starting, I found the article on fitting a Safari Snorkle to a Disco very interesting.
One thing I have learnt from Mud-Club is to take photos as I am doing a job as they come in handy later for refrence or when someone asks for info, this new habbit may lead to me posting some articles in the future. (you have been warned) :lol:

as i did not know it existed for a long time as it
is on the home page but not on any other
it is a very good idea to see how someone else
went about a job or fitting of a accessories
as some of the instructions that come with some of them
are a little vague :)

The forum menu does need regenerating.... but to be fair.. it is on *every* other page on the site, not just the home page ;-)

I'll pack the digital camera in the tool box for the next job then - I've got replacement of the anti-roll bar links coming up and fitting a CB aerial through the roof and SWR'ing the aerial! :D :wink:

Well ... I started to document how to remove the tow hitch from my Range Rover .... until I got flummoxed by the size the nut :(
Hey ho .... will try again. However I will write an article on some of the more "IT" based things you can do with a new Range Rover - I know they are probably not everyones cup of tea - but they might be in years to come ;->

Yes- it's always good to share knowledge.
Two discussions come up often; suspension lifts and split charger systems. I will shortly be writing an expert guide on how to round off nuts, skin knuckles and break ribs whilst replacing shoch absorbers! :oops:

Mine - well cracked a rib somehow when a spanner slipped. This was about a year ago. It's a rib that I have broken before: fell off a snowboard, fell off a skateboard, fell off a bike, then a skateboard again and then, ahem, then a metal railing. I was sober each time.
Motorsports a comparatively tame passtime really...

I picked up two EGR blanking plates from Land Rover in Nottingham last night so I'll photograph the removal of the EGR system off my 300Tdi and write up the procedure when I get round to doing it next week.

I voted YES as I've already posted the one on the propshaft spacers and I'll be playing with Wizard's twin rear shocker kit soon so that can go up there as well. :wink:
If I'd thought about it, instead of just wanting to get the job done cos it started to rain, I changed a front CV joint, wheel bearings, seals and stub axle inner bearing yesterday! :roll:
Just thought of another that's always asked about: "I've got a vibration in the steering, what's causing it?" I'll see if I can put a "what to check & how to check it" together Tim. :D

Just stuck instructions up on how to fit diff lock to a Disco II. Same as appears on the Ashcroft website, because they used my instructions (with permission)!

I'm saying 'yes' and when I have the time will probably write a couple myself. I've taken a few pictures whilst doing the Rangie sills for instance, plus I know a fair bit about LPG now too. I also have a couple of useful wiring diagrams to add. Trouble is my pc is a little slow, escpecially for the internet, so untill I get broadband...........
