Post by: MTyrrell on September 09, 2005, 18:11:14
Saw a great number plate on a Volkswagen touareg that passed me on the motorway.

 P1KEY

Didn't have a caravan on the back though.

Surely it should have been on a slightly battered white Transit pickup truck with a permanant load of assorted scrap in the back?

Once spotted A1 on the Denham roundabout - oddly it was on something fairly mundane like a Mazda.  The plate was worth more than the car.

The Best i have seen yet is P*55  OFF  on the back of a Harly type Motorbike! and that was about 6 or 7 years ago! In Street Somerset!  I've never seen any plate to match that!

I believe the DLVA withdraw certain plates, or don't issue them, if deemed 'offensive'

Used to live near an X5 with the plate:  X5 5NOB

It was very tempting to remove the second 5...

My Dad used to be into Ferrari cars.
He co-founded the Ferrari Club Of Great Britian (because they thought the Owners Club was full of old men, no fun!)
Dad had a TesstaRossa with the 6 FTR (Ferrari Tesst Rossa)
Funny, now they have emigrated to the USA he drives a Nissan 350Z
Not quite the same.

That once belonged to Dunlop tyres, an old pal of mine worked for them some 20 yrs ago, they used to stick it on anything just to keep it.
not sure if they still own it now,

I'ev just put mine in swmbo's disco as i was fed up of paying £25 per yr on retention, M5 JFR, (was on a bmw when i worked for them)

John.
