Post by: paul_humphreys on September 09, 2005, 21:11:13
I have a pair of QT style diff guards, What size bolts do i need to bolt then to the diffs?

The bolts are already in place (if i remember rightly) around the diff.
The other 2 that hold the bottom in place, come with the diff guards.
Are they brand new from QT?

The 2 in the bottom are, I think, Whitworth.  If you bin the harmonic damper you can use the 2 already there at the front.

Thanks.

They are copies of the QT ones. I have moved the stearing damper to the front of the axel.

These are the wrap around ones so they bolt to the diff on the bottom and not where the diff bolts to the axel.

I know they're not metric - Whitworth sounds fairly plausible, it's certainly something which it's fiddly to get hold of.

Just found this on another forum

"i had my diff gaurd off today to swap axels and i can now tell you they are 3/16 BSF but i dont think b`n`q will sell them you will need somebody who stocks allsorts"

I will check if its right monday when I go to get some bolts.
