oh bad news i was of on salisbury plane today and the cluch has started to make nose when i put the peddle down dont know if i got some water in there or what  anyone had this b4 ????

could be the release bearing thats goin/gone,its a gearbox out job to fix it aswell

how i was hoping i wouldnt have to do that  ..
tell me its not as bad as a rrc one cuz that was a 2 day job

a rrc is a 3 hour box out job same as a dicso,only diff is the disco interior comes apart easier

last time i did it i was on me tod and it was the first one  im going to have a good look at it in the day time i hope its just a wet thing i was in the water up to the doors at the time

It has to be worth checking if there is water behind the wading plugs?

I have known people drive a hell of a long way with noisey release bearings. Is's easy to tell a release bearing as it only makes a noise with your foot on the clutch.
The good side of that is that it means it's only on load with your foot on the clutch so even when it's noisey it will last for ages.
I would not panic about pulling the box out just for that.

I would, I had a noisy release bearing on my 90. Jumped into it on morning to go to work, peddle down, into reverse, pulled out of the drive, solid peddle at the top.  :shock:
Knocked it out of reverse and into first, back on the drive and got a lift. Turned out the bearing had collapsed and jammed on the mainshaft!

If you are going to do it then I'd also do the clutch & release fork while your in there.  :wink:

its fine now i think it was just a little water in there it wasent the sound a thrust bering makes

it was like the slave was making a nose  but it has stoped  now so see what will happen

If your gonna get the clutch changed in the future make sure that you up grade/ strengthen the fork
I had mine changed and uprated by http://www.challenger4x4.com/ basd in Farnborough, Hants
Only cost £350 all in and i lost the car for 1 day.

sounds and feels like there is a cable there and its not going smothley if that makes any sense ive had a thrust bearing go b4 and its not that
