Post by: paul_humphreys on September 11, 2005, 17:52:11
How much work is it to change the rear body x member on a 3 door RRC? How much body work has to be removed to do the work?

Bottom tailgate off
Rear lights off
remove the screws around the filler neck
Drill the rivets holding the rear corner to the frame
unbolt the rear quarters
remove rear quarters/corners as one peice
remove bolts from the rear chassis mounts
Cut the rear X-member off as required

Refitting etc. etc.

Thanks, I now need to decide if I have time to do it. I am quite capeable of doing the work its just the time. I might just sell it and go get a 110. If anyone wants a RRC with a 2.8 TD Disatsu engine it let me know quick!!! My V8 has a buyer so no range rovers any more.

"should" take you a good weekend, maybe less. Depends on what else you find behind the rear quarters.
