Asking on behalf of a mate but whats the biggest tyres you can get on a Disco Mk1 with standard suspension???

He wants replace his roads with muds...

Try this size guide (http://members.shaw.ca/jbarge/tires.html)
It's an American chart, but lists the various modifications required for the sizes.
Conversely, what will fit on a standard set-up :wink:

Is that okay?

He'll need to be aware of the fact that different types and makes of tyres can make a difference.
A 235 70 16 MT won't have the same width as a 235 70 16 AT or normal road tyre.
Others that use the Amazon MTs will vouch for that. I had no problem with 235 70 16 Goodyear AT tyres yet ran into lots of problems with 235 70 16 Amazon MTs.

Also the offset of the wheel can run you into problems.

i did not need to trim the rear fender or fit spacers for spare tire
only had to adjust lock stops
