Just need to catch them at it on video and then see if they can be tried for attempted manslaughter.

So dangerous and so stupid.

Even better, walk up on them whilst they are doing it and say "You do realise the less pressure in my tyres the more fuel my car uses, don't you?  Anyway, now their down I might tear it up down some greenlanes.  You just gave me extra traction, a reason to go off road and lower fuel economy, thanks"

“Perhaps it’s cowardly that we prefer to be anonymous, but we have received death threats,” Joker added. “That’s perfectly in keeping with the mentality of the 4x4 people who want to crush everything in their path.”

Sorry, but wrong.  I know allot of people who do not have 4x4's and most of those would want to smash anyones face in for letting down their tyres, I just might enjoy it a bit more.

It can be classed as criminal damage, if by letting your tyres down and  over a period of time they are not re-inflated, this can lead to tyre damage. Which means they are now liable for criminal damage.

But if the user was to re-inflated the tyres and drive off without knowing the tyres had been damage, as many wont, it could cause a road traffic accident. This would be the sole responsibility of the driver! :(bigangry):

Not so bad with off road, 4x4 tyres as the sidewalls are thicker, but normal car tyres are more vunerable. :!:

Aside from the amount of energy required to re-inflate 4 big tyres...   but I suppose that will be yet another "small price to pay"

depends, if you choose to use a foot pump and inflate them by repeatedly smashing a greenies noggin against it, it might work out better for the environment

well, having come out to find all of the tyres on the disco flat before now (including the spare) I'm inclinded to believe that someone is either trying to make a point, or be funny.

if I ever catch them then they may be introduced to a point, and I can quite merrily say that I will view their attempts at eating through a straw jolly funny.

I like this bit

To the amazement of furious owners, the police say that it is not a crime because property is not damaged. “We have had complaints, but it is not clear that any offence is being committed,” said an officer at the sixth arrondissement.

I can just imagine how much trouble you'd be in if the police caught you letting their car tyres down... or ambulance tyres...

Strewth mate!

You can be as trite and eco-nerdy as you like, and if being so effeminate in your so called political strife as to not stand there and be counted.Whilst running around and fiddling with folks pride and joy its o.k. if the motor involved is owned by mrs fforbes-Hamilton or a 9stone townie. But go and do that crap with a 19 stone 6'ft farmer from norwich and see were you end up.Or for that matter myself, after all its very hard to be smug through the plaster cast on your nose.Arrested or not i know id be going home smiling

Is vandelism not a crime in france then ?

besides, with the fact it's unlikely they hung round to put the vavle caps back on, it's theft of 50ps worth at least :)

you could also (IMO) argue wreckless endangerment too, since unless you're me you're unlikely to check tyre pressures before every journey :?

Happened to be in our Human Resources dept the other day with my engineering manager.  The subject of our current Enviroment Awareness lectures came up. Little miss PC said we should all walk, cycle, or car share to work. "Oh", said I. "I live 9.5 miles away". "Should I cycle"?  "Why Not"?, says she.  I asked miss PC where she lived. (I already knew. 1.5 miles from the factory.) When I pointed this out and that SHE came by car.(She didn't know I knew that either) "I car share with another girl", she said all self righteous. "1.5 miles?" said I. "And your telling me I should cycle?" "Why not?" she repeated.  "Several reasons", I replied. "Going home is usually against the pervailing wind. I can't car share as I some times have to work on. No-one lives near me to share with anyway." "Last but not least, I'm 58, doing physical work, not polishing furniture and I'm knackered when I do leave." The reference to furniture polishing had her stumped, and when I explained to her, she stormed out in high dungeon muttering threats of reporting me.

Has anyone clicked the link on the link? They appear to be smearing mud on the 4x4!! Im guessing its nothing worse as they arent wearing gloves and even the frogs arent that daft. I for one would wet myself laughing if i found mud smeared on the disco....most of the time the offender would get muddier trying to do it!!
It seem they are fully deflating tyres so you would be well aware they they had struck so at least they are unlikely to cause an accident.
Yet another bunch of pretend environmentalists missing the point, if i caught em they wouldnt be doing it again- i would make them watch whilst i cranked up the engine and re-inflated the tyres with the arb compressor. Then let the tyres down on their pushbike and throw the valves down the grate.

obviously the environmentalists have not clicked at all as the energy used to power a vehicle with flat tyres is a lot more than when they are inflated, unfortunately for them 2cv's are easily spotted now as they dont seem to be lasting as long as landrovers perhaps they need to look at themselves first ................and should be willing to give up money to the treasury in tax for the c02 they put into the atmosphere as they expel hot air and pump out more as they pedal uphills
