Found a Cheep OFF ROAD site near Skipton North Yorkshire. £15 a day.
I called in today and asked about the site and whilst speaking to the owner he told me it is used by CLUBs so I would need to phone and ask when the site is Free so if you are interested then you will have to let me know and when I have a few people interested I have to ring him and see when it's available.
So if you are interested and local ish then let me know.
-
Cor. That's almost localish for me.
I'd be interested, certainly. Not sure when I'll be able to make it oweing to MOT and suspension troubles (couple of months until both are sorted, at a guess).
I work shifts, so I've got no real preference with regards to what day of the week.
-
Can I vote for defintely interested, but not to bothered about which day. I'm semi self employed, so can move work round to a certain extent to fit in, and there's just as much chance of me having a rush job on a weekend as a week day. So My vote is everyday, but I suspect the weekends will win though.

Huw, your not allowed to go if I'm there, as last time you pipped me to the most spectacularly stuck title, and most envolved recovery!! at the last minute!! I was a dead cert for the title all day until you got wedged across those ruts :D
-
I better not come either then (or you will lose your most stuck title to me!)
Still on Road tyres until I can wear them out
-
I was only annoyed cos I held it all day a Whitworth, right from the get go :D , then shortly before closing Huw, managed to wedge his discovery across some ruts, and none of us, could get anywhere near, so we had to winch him sideways out of the ruts.

Cool sounds like we can make a fun day of it. May be go sometime this week and get some photos of it for you all to see. It don't look big but I am sure we can make it bigger. Ha ha.
Its cheep and that is the name of the game. I will see what I can do as for the photos...
-
Might be intereted too?
You have any more details of the site, name location etc...
Cheers.

Very interested, Skipton ain't too far for me. If anyone wanted to travel up or down I could have use of a large house at Skyreholme for not much dosh (£5 each) given a bit of notice.
-
Mmm. Sounds interesting.
Could it be one of the existing sites used by 'Pennine Land Rover Club' & the 'Yorkshire Rover Owners Club'??
-
Not sure what its called but its up near a place called Lothersdale and Near Cross Hills just off the road. I have not been for a walk onto the site but it sounds like I am going to have to as there has been plenty of people interested now between here and landyzone.
The farmer is sound aswell he also got landys but I think he has lost the urge as its there for him all the time.
OK I will take a look up there this week and get some photos.

Sounds like one it's one of their RTV/CCV trial sites. I'm sure they 'share' one up there.
-
sounds good but would need some sort of B&B as its getting a bit to nippy for the tent and I would need to make a weekend of it

If we choose the days right we could either go over to Whitworth, on Sunday, or Up to Scarbrough for a return visit to Langdale. And I'm sure other will have other venues worth a visit.

Now there's a good plan being hatched

When is the next Whitworth? I haven't been for a while. I seem remember they were going to beginning\end of month. If so it'll be too short a notice ofr this month, but we might be able to dovetail it for next month, or possibly one after.

oh don't be soft. I could ask the farmer if we can camp in the field next to the 4X4 track for a bit extra money. We could all get some beers down us aswell....hummmm
-

Call me soft if you will, but I'm not overly keen on camping in summer, but come oct\nov I prefer a roof, a warm bed and a good woman.
-
Anybody got a generator or central heating for a tent....
There will be a B&B about a mile down the road in Cross Hills.

I went rough camping in Scotland last december, woke up with frost all over the tent, LOVELY!!!! NOT.
-
If we sort it out right we could all goto Briercliffe on the sunday only 10 miles down the road.

I'm never going to be allowed to forget that tent, am I?
I won't be sleeping in it again, it's been "converted" into a bike cover. :D
