With the fuel prices as they are ..I found this site today...may be useful in the future http://www.voil.co.uk/ :roll: :roll: Let me know if anyone gets the conversion :) :) And i will be round for a chip butty :lol: :lol:

i no of a few folk running neat SVO & others running 50/50 mix,only prob ive discovered is if stuck in traffic you can get hungry very quickly :lol:

If you complete the attached Positive Engine Assessment Form for your Peugeot 406, I will then provide the system you would need with a costing.
The approximate costs for a car is:
£500-£800 system supplied only
£995 System fully fitted & Tested

HMRC have recently decided that SVO doesn't count as Bio-Diesel and is therefore chargable at the same rate of duty as Dino - I read elsewhere that they are now chasing people for using it with their earlier aggreement. They are revising their advice notes at present so there isn't much info on their site but have a look at this (http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageLibrary_GuidesAndBusinessBriefs&propertyType=document&columns=1&id=HMCE_PROD1_024145)
So the choices seem to be
1. Use Dino Diesel at ridiculously high duty rate
2. Use Bio if you can find somewhere that sells it, or get a licence to produce it yourself, at a slightly lower rate of duty
or 3. Use SVO (which is probably the most environmentally friendly choice) but paying duty at the same rate as Dino.
Now can someone convince me that environmental protection is the reason for high fuel duty rates.

We were on the way back from the east-coast this afternoon with the I-W after emptying the BWSOW, prior to winter storage.
I called in at a 'Bio-Fuel' supplier on the outskirts of York.
I'd meant to call on the way there, but it was fairly busy & missed the yards entry.
The chappie splashed £30.00 into it, at a price of 79.5p/litre.
The last time I passed it was only 72p/litre (mid August)
I'll see how it goes (& smells :wink: )
As an aside;
I brimmed it at the local garage on the Monday (or Tuesday) before the fuel protests, as it was down to about 1/4 full.
I'd done 375miles as I pulled into the yard & the needle was 'bang on' half full
(shows how many miles I do per week, as that total included the Royston Vasey-by-the-Sea trip)

If your fuel guage is anything like mine then I think the guage messures the 'level' not the quantity and with the shape of the tank it seems to slowly drop, and then tends to plummet at the end.
Or, translated back into english, I'm not convinced that half on the fuel guage is half a tankful.
