I have a engine in my landy which is not the original and was wondering if anybody could help me identify if it is a 5 or 3 bearing crank.
Its a diesel and the No is 90669149 C or G its hard to notice if its a c or a g

Not on a diesel I cant, there must be a way though, failing that drop off the sump and have a look, bit drastic but the only way I can think of at the mo

Cheers bud. I dont want to have to do that. May be there be someone out there. I have seen it on the net somewhere before how to but can't find it again for the life of me....

Did they do a 5 bearing engine in a diesel?
Just looking around, in the book there is a supplement for the 5 bearing petrol but nothing for the diesel, here's a pic of the 3 bearing diesel

Well if the photo is correct it looks just like mine and it's a 3 bearing crank. Dam was going to fabricate a small turbo to it but its not going to happen now. Cheers guys

unless you find another engine, a 2,5 tdi or old defender non turbo to drop in, looks that way. Shame you cant swap the bottom half from a petrol onto your diesel head :wink:
